Ja’Kobe Tharp won the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship 110 metres hurdles title in a spectacular photo finish, clocking 12.94 to edge reigning world champion Cordell Tinch by just one hundredth of a second. Tinch appeared to have the race won before Tharp produced a perfectly timed dip at the line, completing a remarkable season in which the 20-year-old American also broke the world record.
